A great combination of short steep climbs, loose and rocky downhills, great single tracks and
jeep tracks for recovery. Runners will enjoy beautiful scenery and views of McGregor town.
The route is suitable for trail runners that would like to attempt their first multi day race. It is also a perfect training weekend for runners preparing for longer distance stage races later in the year.
The day consists of short steep rocky climbs
(remember to enjoy the views of McGregor
when you reach the top), with loose and rocky
downhills before you reach the first water point
You will then enjoy some recovery time on flat and fast jeep track for around 4km. After crossing the Road2Nowhere main road you will reach your second water point at 15km. From here there are some awesome single-track running including the last short steep climbs before you head back to the centre of town.
You will be transported by bus to the beautiful Lord’s Winery where you will start your run for
the day. A short run through the vineyards leads
you to some fun forest trails through blue gum
trees. After 6km you will start your major climb
of the day – steep single track – where after you
will reach the water point at 8km.
From here you will start a descent, gradual at first and then becoming very steep at the end. Enjoy some recovery time along more vineyards before you reach the second climb of the day, where after you will be spoilt with more single track running all the way to the finish line.
